autumn pledge
… fall fun(d) drive
The Autumn Equinox 2026 occurs on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 00:05 UTC, Universal Standard Time. (In Western American lingo, the time will actually be September 22 at 8:05 PM EDT, Eastern Time.) During this astronomical event, nearly every place on Earth will experience roughly equal hours of daylight and darkness! (Source)
To celebrate this auspicious global occurrence, I’m preparing a special project… a pledge drive to raise money for obLITTERate!
How it works:
On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, I will be obLITTERating throughout the day. Those who pledge can choose any dollar amount (per mile, pound, or hour) to pledge. (A flat rate pledge is also an option.) The total will be calculated at the end of the day:
distance covered in miles,
weight of litter in pounds,
time completed in hours,
or a flat amount instead.

UPDATE: The Autumn Pledge is over. Read here to find out how it went!
But, you can still donate anytime!

“Any undue harm that befalls the land is readily felt within the awareness of all who dwell within that land. And thus, the health, balance, and well-being of each person is inseparable from the health and well-being of the enveloping earthly terrain.”
