autumn equinox 2026

… an update and final results

I am incredibly fulfilled with gratitude. Below, I share info and photos from the 2026 Autumn Pledge.

  • Time - 6 hours

  • Distance - 6 miles

  • Weight - 37.92 pounds

To begin, I made sure I was awake before sunrise, 7:33 am (with sunset at 7:40 pm). Although I had imagined traveling toward multiple counties and parks, I wasn’t exactly sure where the day would lead. I let the day unfolded naturally.

The forecast was wet with drizzle, setting the tone as calm and colorful. I started nearby in a local haunt, one I’ve written about before, near Latimer Woods. Afterward, I happily wondered and wandered into a new-to-me location, Morgan-Monroe State Forest, Indiana. And here I remained most of the day.

I wanted to trek another 2-3 miles but I also needed to get back to town before dark. And even then, I plogged another mile (day 542) along a local river trail to wrap up this Autumn Equinox.

A beautifully balanced day! Overall, I am exhilarated and exhausted and so very grateful!

  • Pledges - 26

  • Total - $1,885.00

Thank you to all who pledged and donated!

Litter might be darn-markable, but you’re REMARKABLE!
